We are delighted to share the timetable for the Surrey Sports Park Open Day on Saturday 15th April 2023 where we are giving the public free access to our facilities for the day!
The timetable features sessions for juniors and adults, as well as a range of family-friendly activities across our facilities. There is a range of organised activities in addition to open access and drop-in sessions for facilities such as the gym, climbing wall, swimming pool & more.
Please note, activities are bookable now via the Surrey Sports Park online booking system. This excludes any sessions labelled 'Open Access' which do not need to be booked in advance.

Here are the full descriptions for each activity...
Adult No Strings Badminton - No fuss, just fun! Play doubles against a range of other players, organised by one of our friendly activators. All the flexibility of pay and play sessions and a great way to meet other adult players (16+) in a social setting. Suitable for beginners/intermediate players.
Back to Netball – Come and try this social session which is a great way to keep fit and have fun. The sessions are relaxed with the coaches being there to guide you. So, if you’ve never caught a netball before or would like to have a refresh on the rules, all abilities are welcome. These sessions are for women aged 16+ and are delivered by enthusiastic coaches.
Body Attack (Les Mills Launch event) – Be the first to try our new content for BODYATTACK! New music and new choreography! This high-energy class combines aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises. Dynamic instructors and powerful music motivate everyone towards their fitness goals – from the beginner to the competitor.
Body Balance (Les Mills Launch event) – Be the first to try the new content for BODYBALANCE! New music and new exercises! This is a unique workout which incorporates Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates to help improve flexibility, build strength and leave you feeling relaxed and calm. The class will help you learn how to control your breathing and focus your mind.
Body Pump (Les Mills Launch event) - Be the first to try our new content for BODYPUMP! This is the original barbell class that delivers a total body workout to help burn calories, shape and tone your entire body, increase core strength and improve bone health. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!
Cardio Tennis – Get fit the fun way with this tennis-inspired cardio workout! No tennis skills are required, although you will pick up a few along the way!
Coach by Colour - Our unique method for coaching intensity is Coach By Colour®. Every rider uses their individual Functional Threshold Power (FTP) figure to build a colour-coded zonal system to use throughout the class. This is an accurate way to assess your effort ensuring you are not going too hard or easy during the workout. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned cyclist, if you are looking to improve your cycling this is the class for you. Power training made easy!
Combat – Punch, kick and attack your way through this high-energy total body workout. Inspired by boxing and martial arts, you will burn calories and release tons of stress. This class will improve both cardio fitness and muscle definition. It also uses equipment such as gloves, bags, mats and skipping ropes.
Condition – A full-body and faster-paced workout with lighter weights and cardio-based exercises. If you are looking to improve your aerobic fitness, this is the perfect class.
Drop-In Badminton – Free court bookings for adults to play badminton.
Drop-In Squash – Free squash court bookings with a maximum of four people on court at one time.
Facilitated Squash session – An opportunity to play squash with coached supervision.
Family Badminton – Drop-in slots available for families to play some badminton together.
Family Basketball – Bring the family along to try some skills and play a little 3v3 basketball game.
Family Netball – An opportunity for the family to practice shooting and drills on our outdoor netball courts.
Family Swim – A chance for parents and children to swim together. One booking covers a maximum of four people.
HIIT Squash – Join us for a fun, creative and energising squash-specific High Intensity Interval Training workout. You will be taken through some specific fitness exercises to benefit your game as well as getting on court and hitting balls at the same time.
Hybrid – A mix of both strength & conditioning. A class that will get your heart pumping and build muscle tone. Perfect for anyone who is looking for an all-round, total body workout.
Junior Basketball Tournament – This is a 3v3 basketball competition for under-12s to test themselves and have fun. Book your child as an individual or register interest for a group, with four team members being the maximum. Email p.waghorn@surrey.ac.uk to book.
Junior Coached Netball - These open sessions are run by a coach who will guide you through Netball skills in a fun and engaging atmosphere with game play included.

Junior Tennis & Family Open Session – Open for families and juniors to come and play some fun tennis with a coach overseeing the activities.
Lane Swimming – Up to four lanes of Lane Swimming available to all.
Open Access to Climbing Wall – No need to book; just turn up and enjoy a climb at Surrey Summit!
Open Access to Gym – No need to book; just turn up and enjoy a workout in the gym!
Open Rig – An open session for users to come and use the Rig for their workout. With a range of weights, racks and exercise equipment to use in a similar way to the main Fitness Suite.
Raveaerobics – A fun total body workout to great soundtracks and using LED glow sticks.
Saturday Sports Club – A fun activity session for young people with disabilities and their siblings. Activities include trampolining, climbing, badminton, football, tennis, basketball, table tennis and soft play. Sessions supported by volunteers with an emphasis on fun.
Strength – Designed to build strength and muscle tone. Whether you are training or looking to get better definition, this class will help you get those results.
Swim Fit – A fun and coached session looking to improve fitness and stamina levels in swimming to give a full-body workout.
Vibe - Vibe will take you on a rhythmic journey, with music being at the centre of this class. Using a mixture of speed and resistance training to provide a great lower body workout, the class also contains some upper-body movements, meaning your whole body will work out during this 45-minute class. The emphasis in on having fun, so exercise doesn’t feel like exercise!
Walking Basketball – All the thrills of basketball, just slowed down.
Walking Netball - Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. Sessions are full of fun, laughter and camaraderie. Maybe you have an injury and you need to avoid the impact of jumping, if so, this is also perfect for you. There is no longer a need to miss out on the game you love!
Yoga – A combination of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga and Fitness. This class incorporates stretch, strength and yoga postures which help you improve your flexibility, breathing, mind, body and soul.
Your Time to Ball – A free session for adults to play basketball.
Zumba – Zumba is the exciting fusion of an interval training-based toning workout coupled with dance-influenced steps including Salsa, Merengue, Samba and Reggaeton. Full of Latin flavour and zest, fun for everyone.
